Just A Sixteen Year Old….

Break free and move forward or don’t. What can I say? After all I am just a sixteen year old…

Mark Caine once wrote “The first step towards success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself. “

I guess he would know right? He’s got his share load of success. Who am I to question him, I’m just a 16 year old who is yet to see the world for herself, who is yet to experience life for all its aspects. Yet to see failure and success in their true, organic form. My journey has just started or maybe not even.

But then again it’s a democracy isn’t it, so who’s gonna stop me, so here it goes…….

Mark Caine once wrote “The first step towards success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself.”

But when you come to think of it, isn’t our whole life based on where we start? Isn’t our past a big part of what our future will be? Aren’t our decisions and actions of our past the architects and of our present? The choices that we have made earlier in our life are what lead us to where we have ended up today. Every decision leads on to another and another and

Breaking Free

before we know it, our life is in action. Hence what is in our control is what we choose to do today. As that will decide what happens in our future.

Isn’t the environment that’s keeping us ‘captive’ the very thing that makes us stronger, shapes us, making us wiser and better? I feel that being yourself in whichever environment is what gets you to success. Perseverance and freedom for yourself is all you need. As Martin Luther King Jr once wrote “the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy”. Fighting against obstacles with commitment and belief is what is necessary. Nothing can keep you captive if you believe you are free.

Mark Caine once wrote “the first step towards success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself.”

Break free and move forward or don’t. Maybe what he wrote is right or maybe it’s not. Who am I to decide? I’m just a 16 year old who is yet to live her life.

Brilliant start. Didnt know the little one had so much boiling within.

Great thought and so true that our past is the architect of our future.
But that’s also correct that we can break free from our past and design our future the day we decide.

Awesome Article Simar.. It is so true that we are captives in our own mind bound by our own thoughts. To break free what is needed is the belief that I can be Free and then work with sincere commitment towards making myself break free from my captivity. Break free from the shackles of thought that is holding me back..

    Kudos to your first article.

One day one has to take decision, stand by own decision and be responsible for own actions. It’s just a matter of time; today or tomorrow. The way you have expressed your thoughts, just a profound thinker can do so. Well done and keep it up Simar !

Hey lovely thought Simar.. I love the word play and I like the command of language. Couple of typos but nothing that breaks the chain of thought. Maybe also show both sides of the view..that what Mark Cain is getting at is not to reject your past.. But in liberation from your current chains.. And that would happen when u face the past.. Learn it’s lessons.. That is the only thing which liberates u.. Acceptance and not rejection, which I think is the point you were getting at
